1. The final seasons of Six Feet Under begins tonight. Glee! Dance! Joy!

2. The car shopping process has begun. I did some test drives this weekend and came out relatively unscathed. Go me!

3. Choral concert is the 12th, which means this week is filled with lots of rehearsals and last-minute preparations. This week is also filled with crazy 14 hour work days, which means I will be pretty darned cranky by the end of the week. Bear with me, yo.

4. Um. Coffee.

::ahem:: a few 8' funboards on craigslist. :D

Ooh! Soon I will have a car on which to transport a board! *waggle eyebrows*

I'm trolling around for a 9'0 longboard, and I actually see a bunch between 8'0 and 8'5. So when you are ready to buy one, Craigslist is a good place to look.

Craigslist is da bomb, yo. Fo sheezy.

I would say PRIUS OR MINI OMG but it's kind of weird to have a car shorter than your surfboard.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2005-06-06 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it looks a little funny. ;) Although I'm pretty sure you could fit a board inside a Prius. They're really roomy. O.O

I'm looking at a Ford Focus hatchback for the a)longer roofline, b)reasonable gas mileage, c)partial zero emissions, and d)family discount from my dad.

Did you guys trade in your Escape for the hybrid version?

[identity profile] scrump.livejournal.com 2005-06-06 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Not yet. We're having trouble finding a way to do it that doesn't jack our payment, which is suboptimal.

Focus? They don't even kn...

Stoooooopid payment.

Focus? They don't even kn...

Ba-DUM-bum! He'll be here all week, folks...

Oh, hey. The Ford Freestyle is pretty slick: it doesn't look dorktastic, and it seems to be about the same profile as a Subaru Outback.

You realize, of course, that the stereotypical Dyke Utility Vehicle is the Outback?

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2005-06-06 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It does look nice, but the gas mileage is a little below what I'd like. But yeah, definitely vies with the Outback for "Vehicle Most Likely to Have Martina Navratilova as Celebrity Spokeperson." Hee!

We're quite loving our 2000 Civic that we got used. We got it under Honda's Certified Used Car system so it's got lots of guarantees that take the nerousness out of buying used. I've also had a Civic in the past with my ex and loved that car too. Good size coupled with good handling. Plenty of power for our needs, excellent fuel rating. I highly recommend it, and probably wouldn't buy any other kind of car except maybe if I got rich enough to upgrade to an Accord.

Or if a future IVF turns into actual triplets and we'd need a minivan. :)

[identity profile] kimberlychapman.livejournal.com 2005-06-08 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
Erm, that'd be nervousness. Not sure what nerousness is but it sounds like an icky brain disease. :)

I've decided to go with a new vehicle right now, just to eliminate one extra level of headache from the screening process. And my Dad's employee discount from Ford is a non-trivial factor in the decision making process. Also? The Focus is fun to drive. I haven't been a fan of Ford sedans in many years (since the Granada in the late 70's) but this is a sweet little subcompact.
