It's a rainy, nasty day today so I invited a friend to go to the movies. We saw a matinee of Red. The plot and characterization were predictable, but the sight of Helen Mirren shooting automatic weapons was worth every penny. ;)

oh what a difference location makes. i'm not even unpacked all the way, and i haven't hung any decorations, but my new place already feels cozier and more like home than my last one ever did.

folks will be over in a bit to help me load the moving truck. it's mostly furniture, as i've hauled small boxes and loose stuff over during the week. i will also be able to take my bike -- exciting, as lake merritt is a bike-friendly area.

i just have to get through the next few hours. for some reason, this video is helping. don't ask me why.

I'm not as worried about LJ-FB-Twitter douchebaggery after the recent announcement, but for the sake of caution I created a mirror account at Dreamwidth. I'm backing up everything at DW in the meantime. We'll see what happens in the future.
