Eeep!

Shout out to [livejournal.com profile] bobamster and [livejournal.com profile] prrrn: I'm listening to Rufus Wainwright's Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk and I think our ensemble should do this piece. Maybe not for the winter concert, but certainly at some point. Okay, the text isn't woman-oriented but he's queer! That should count, right? And it'd be fun to sing. And kinda campy. Whaddya think?

I haven't heard this song... I'll have to find a copy of it.

I ordered some Mediaeval Baebes CD's; I think they'll arrive in the next couple days. One of them has a number of Christmas/Yuletime songs on it. If I find some that would be good for our group I can send out some MP3's.

BTW I saw an interview on Planetout with Rufus. I was gonna send you a link, but it's one of those sites where everything has the same link on top and they don't have one of those "email this page" things at the bottom, so just go to http://www.planetout.com/pno/splash.html and it's in the "entertainment" section.

Haven't heard of it, but the title sounds interesting...

The song is very musical theater-sounding. He's got a Cole Porter thing happening and there's potential for good harmony. Plus, if we sang a cappella but "accompanied" ourselves on some parts, the overall effect could be cool. I'll see if I can grab a copy of it.

Thanks for the link, [livejournal.com profile] bobamster. :)
