Today I hate everyone

There is a jackass who rides the train with me every morning. He is a motormouthed, unkempt, loud, know-it-all engineer who has to find someone to talk to LOUDLY on every trip. I find him annoying beyond words and fantasized briefly about shoving him in front of the train this morning. It gave me momentary pleasure.

Next is my boss, who is on the Shit List From Hell. Yesterday he got bent out of shape because of some information I passed on to a beta tester. It's nothing we haven't told other beta testers, so I thought nothing of it. Today he informs me of a very important piece of information that explains his attitude, and why telling this customer anything wasn't great. My reply was "that would have been useful to know."

What is it with these fucking morons who surround me?

Engineers. Blech. Every morning you should talk LOUDLY about how much you hate engineers. ;-)

What gives with the boss? Did he not see that it would have been useful for you to know this info since you have to communicate with customers on a regular basis. Duh!!

Apparently he didn't think it was important. He has since given me a little lecture on things we don't tell customers without a CDA. Fucker.

you should ask if you can speak to him privately. then tell him that in the future he should communicate this info to you before the fact. if this is info that expects you should have known, it should have been covered a long time ago. then gently remind him that you don't need to hear about it any more since there's nothing you can do about it at this point, except change future interactions w/ customers.

But that's far too reasonable. I prefer the approach where I glare at him today, thereby sending him into hiding in his office because, after all, he's a big wimp and is skeered of little ole me. ;)

Yeah, I should say something.

To The Canyon with them

I'd like to offer you use of The Canyon.

Allow me to explain: When I am in charge of the world, I will be turning the Grand Canyon into a drop off point for idiots and useless people. Ideally, it will be the people I deem to be so, but friends are welcome to make submissions.

As the Canyon will fill fairly quickly under this criteria, we will put it to profitable use by inviting tourists to continually shovel dirt into The Canyon and also to take steamroller rides over the growing piles.

Cool. Next time the boss gets wacky I think I'll have to use the Canyon.
