*sigh*

I love eating lunch at the shore, particularly on warm sunny days like today. The weather was so nice, even the dolphins were surfing. Okay, they weren't surfing so much as traveling up the shore, but it was still nice to see them. I counted 4 fins. I think; there were definitely 3 and maybe a 4th.

Your Only in Southern California moment for today: a police squad car at the local carwash. The attendant was sitting in the driver's seat while he cleaned the insides of the windows. (Is it just me or does that seem unsafe?)

I really should work. I really want to go back to the shore.

You know a good part of the continent is climbing out of one of the coldest winters we've had in awhile. If I wanted to be positive today I might have written.."The sun came up bright on last nights late winter snowfall, melting it as the day went on leaving a mix of greening grass and patches of white by evening."...and felt good about it.
Until of course I read about your lunch with the dolphins. Well enjoy it anyway.

I assume it wouldn't reassure you to know that I looked out of my office window to look at several nubile college women in small outfits sunning themselves in the warmth of a fine California afternoon. Actually, it doesn't reassure me, now that I think of it.

"Reassure" isn't the word I'd choose...

It was quite distracting. Especially the one in the bikini.

Truthfully, what I miss about working on a campus is skater girls. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for a girl on a skateboard. :)

You realize that UCSD skater chicks are generally surferesque girls with long, straight hair, tiny tops and low-rise jeans rather than skate-punk girls, right?

I prefer skate-punk girls, but I certainly don't have anything against surfer girls.

I've seen a few skater-punk girls around. Not too many, but a few. Any sort of punk stands out here at UCSD.

The students here are not like any other sort of college students I've encountered. They are really serious.

The word I think of is uptight. They seem rigid and fearful of academic failure (but lack any sort of competitive work ethic.) It's weird.

I saw a girl without a parka on; that was pretty hot

Wooo! I love them girls w/out parkas.

I think I hate California. If you just said nubile or college or women or small outfits or sunning themselves; but all together...it's just to much.

You don't hate California. You just wish you could be in California.

Well, it is foggy this morning. I probably won't see bikini-clad nubile college women sunning themselves today until after the fog burns off. See, there is some suffering in California. =)

Well I looked out my office window to see someone (can't tell if male or female) and I got a really good view of the print on their underwear. It wasn't pretty.

Well enjoy it anyway.

I do. I think I enjoy it enough for the entire Northeast.

None of my comments are landing where I sent them so you'll have to sort them out.
Anyway this all reminds me of a scene in "It's a Wonderful Life" where Violet (Gloria Graham) walks by and the three guys gaze after her. Burt the Cop says something like "Well I gotta go home and check on the wife"

Wow. Dolphins. That's so amazing. I'm happy if I see ducklings on my lunch-break.

It is a nice thing to work close to the Pacific ocean; even nicer when the whales are migrating.
