Poll

This morning I heard Kiss Them for Me by Siouxsie and the Banshees, a song which makes me unreasonably perky despite its rather morbid subject matter.

Are there any songs that cheer you up, even though on paper they shouldn't?

Oops. I deleted that first post. I had to because I used the word "sale" instead of "sail" and I'm anal about that sort of thing... ;)

That Titanic song we sang in grade school:

Oh, they built the ship Titanic to sail the ocean blue
And they thought they had a ship that the water wouldn't go through
But the Good Lord raised his hand
And said, "This ship must never land!"
It was sad when the great ship went down...

It was saaaad. So saaaad.
It was sad when the great ship went down
To the bottom of the seeeeeea (husbands and wives, little children lost their lives)
It was sad when the great ship went down

I think the second verse says something about the the poor being the first to go. The song sounds upbeat which is really odd. We used to sing it in grade 4.

I like that Titanic song!

I always felt it was a little un-PC of me (a guy) to have so much fun singing the chorus of "Rip Her To Shreds" by Blondie.
"Your Cheating Heart" by Hank Sr. is kind of perky.
