Fuck it. I could use some cheering-up

Take a second, and mention something you like about me (if such a thing exists) in the comments. Then repost this to your own journal, and have some goodness for yourself.

Go on, do it. You deserve it. And so do I. Tell me how much you adore me. You know you want to. ;-)

Oh, I guess I should tell you the X-rated ones in private?

I adore you lots.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-09 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, those come later. *ahem*

[identity profile] woe2you.livejournal.com 2004-04-09 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Your discretion. See above comments.

Yo, I keep it on the down low.

The dual fact that I can have either an intelligent conversation or a totally goofy conversation with you on just about anything I can think of and come away feeling like I have spent my time well. Especially when we have both been drinking.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-10 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
:D Too true, we can talk about nearly anything.

[identity profile] among-the-waves.livejournal.com 2004-04-09 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You have a phenomenal natural music talent. And you defy the "gay standard time" stereotype by being timely.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-10 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, my mama taught me that it's rude to be late. I guess it stuck.

[identity profile] nightxade.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Are Gay people often late too? I thought it was just Jamaicans, hence the term "8 o'clock Jamaica Time" (as in, if you want a Jamaican to arrive at 8pm, tell them to come at 7pm.) Fortunately, I defy the stereotypes as well. I find tardiness to be quite rude.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oftentimes we are. Gay Standard Time is generally +/- 45 minutes, to my knowledge.

I don't like to keep people waiting.

Yes, especially when it comes to corralling large numbers of queer people together (like "let's meet at 9 and go to the bar"... you'd be lucky to get to the bar by 11).

I usually don't keep my friends waiting because I find that rude, but I'm usually scrambling and speeding to get there on time. However, if it doesn't matter (like a party) I'm always late. It's really annoying to have no sense of time.

[identity profile] nightxade.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
So a Gay Jamaican could likely completely disrupt the space time continuum?

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible. Or the GST and JST effects could be synergistic, pushing the Gay Jamaican to actually show up early for events.

But not likely.

[identity profile] nightxade.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll give you a grant if you wish to study this phenomenon. Assuming you're done with the bunnies.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Am finishing up the final work on the bunnies, but will begin setting up the Gay Jamaican Space-Time Wormhole experiments so that they will dovetail nicely.

I could repeat the comment I just made in reply to this thread in Wafflelip's journal, but that would be lazy of me. But what I said there is equally applicable here.

So. Instead, let me cite your intellect.

And how much I adore you.

But that goes without saying.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-10 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh you. You realize you're this close to losing curmudgeon points?

But that goes without saying.

As should the opposite.

[identity profile] gonzo21.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
No! Not my precious curmudgeon points! Take anything but those!

Christ, if it gets out that I might actually be quite a nice person, I'm done for.

I'm a little confused though, as should the opposite, in relation to how much I adore you? I should not adore you in equal measure? Or you're saying the same thing about me?

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
Curmudgeon points regained. ;)

(I was saying the same about you, Simon. )

[identity profile] gonzo21.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
(thank you)

[identity profile] kitsune76.livejournal.com 2004-04-10 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
I like that you're smart enough to be friends with Simon :) Also, you friended mer. Also, you're a science geek, which is cool in another woman. And you're political and left wing, all of which is good :)

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-10 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Why thank you. I could say all the same about you. And perhaps I shall. :)

[identity profile] joebanks.livejournal.com 2004-04-10 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Rats! Everybody took all the good stuff. You know I wish we'd had a few hundred in person conversations; like I had with the Crunchberry chick instead of one before we moved into this form of communication.

that's my "like about you thing" cheer up!

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish we'd had a few hundred in person conversations

Me too. With tea.

[identity profile] joebanks.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Quite.

[identity profile] sionnain.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
I think you're funny, very smart, and you seem to have an incredible zest for life and a great positive outlook on things.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
~blush~

Um wow. Thanks!

[identity profile] virginmartyr1.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
has anyone mentioned your witt? (i think that haven't. crazy). right, so i dig the fact that you're super witty and snarky and overly intelligent it's sometimes scary. also that you will banter with me via email (and in person)...and that you dribble coffee drinks out of your mouth and onto your white clothing. you make me laugh a whole lot.

oh wait, was the point to just say one thing? oh well, brevity has never been my strong point.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
that you dribble coffee drinks out of your mouth and onto your white clothing.

I feel the love, Sparky. ::fuzzy::

;)

[identity profile] virginmartyr1.livejournal.com 2004-04-11 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel the love, Sparky. ::fuzzy::

and isn't that what this was all about? :)

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Let's all hold hands and sing...

[identity profile] virginmartyr1.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
yay. let's all hug now.

feel the love

[identity profile] nightxade.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
I like your wit and wisdom. I like that I can come to you with my ignorant science related questions and get a really helpful answer in terms that I can understand.

[identity profile] biogeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2004-04-12 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
I like that when you have a science related question, you pipe up and just ask me.
