It's Monday, but at least it's the afternoon. I have no idea where my day went but it can stay there. I'm in no hurry to get it back. :b

I had a revelation on Sunday. [livejournal.com profile] bobamster and I weren't able to surf, due to poor conditions. I was quite sad, as you might imagine, and lamented the winter weather. Then I realized that many people who surf when it's warm then go snowboarding when it's cold. And I thought Hey, that's what I should do! I should learn to snowboard!

(Go ahead, you can laugh.)

[livejournal.com profile] wafflelips said that the conversion is final, I am now a California Girl.

Had lots of Geek Fun this weekend. Played a crazy amount of FFXI. Leveled. Started playing in parties (many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] chumm for the lift, the pies, and the How to Play a Mage chat before). Going to the Dunes to find a party reminded me of the first time I went to a club. You have to look interesting, be visible, and hope ohpleaseohplease that someone wants to hook up with you. Except you get to kill monsters.

On Friday, I heard from Slimey D that Hirsute Playa was thinking of asking me out. To his credit, Slimey just smiled and said "You don't wanna do that." Thanks to the Slimey one for having my back on that.

So how's your weekend?

What is snowboarding? I've heard of it before, of course, but I do not know exactly what it is.

Imagine skiing on a skateboard minus the wheels. Basically that's snowboarding. :)

Hmm, that doesn't have nearly the appeal to me that surfing does.

True, but it's a reasonable substitute in the winter when it's gross and rainy and the water quality is bad due to runoff from the storm sewers.

Eeek! Snowboarding scares me. One good wipeout and my knees or back would be out. At least with surfing, I just fall off into the water which isn't a problem unless a huge wave slams me into the bottom. I think I'll stick to surfing when I can and swimming.

This is true, but you get the *whoosh* and fun of surfing. And no worries about runoff and junk.

It was a very strange thing for me to say, and T and I had a good laugh about it. :)

You make me feel like an Ent with you're activity. "Hasty Hobbits, surfing then snowboarding, very hasty".

We have a snowboard somewhere, I attempted to get on it last year. Maybe I'll just go ahead and try it and break that leg.

Ah but it would be fun! A little glide, then whoosh, then swoosh...

Woo hoo!

Oh, it would be a blast!

See? You're not an Ent, you're secretly a Hobbit.
