Sigh

It struck me this morning on the train that I love living in Southern California, I really do. I love the sight of the ocean from a distance, deep blue green on a clear day, gray green on an overcast day. I love watching the surfers bobbing in the waves, paddling out, catching a set, or just waiting for the next to come in. I love the way the soft seaside cliffs erode into flowing rounded shapes, like fat babies' bellies. I love seeing the old-timers at the shore, pulling longboards out of their perfectly maintained Woodies. I love seeing sea kayaks carefully stored on tiny apartment balconies.
