Doo doo doo, the weekend is here
Jun. 10th, 2005 10:27 amFirst, the exciting news: I'm in the process of buying a car. Whee! This means that I will no longer have to share the Corolla with T. That in itself will be a tremendous stress relief for both of us. It'll also be a tremendous stress relief to those kind souls who've been ferrying me back and forth on my car-less days. Thanks to all of you for your generosity.
Second, I found another dyke at work! She's a cool admin person who works in my building, and I got only the tiniest vaguest notion that she might be one of ours. But just now she invited me to a fundraiser for her softball team and in the process came out to me. So, any SD peeps: the Six Degrees softball team is having a Texas Hold 'Em tournament tomorrow night starting at 7pm. $10 buy-in and all proceeds sponsor the team on its way to the World Series. Tell your friends!
Third, after a nasty allergy attack I had to take Benadryl last night. It has interesting side effects for me, predominately drowsiness and a general lack of alertness. It also tends to give me interesting dreams. Last night I dreamt that I met up with
mosca and the
distraction77 (sounds like a band name, doesn't it?) at their place to watch tv. To my surprise,
mosca was a Giggly Person, as in the fundamental nature of her personality was to be Giggly. I thought "Wow, wouldn't have expected that. Guess you really can't tell what a person's like over the internet."
Okay. Time to pretend to work. Ciao.

You know, it was quite attractively furnished. Modest, in that "I'm a grad student and have no cash" way, but clean and bright with a nice color scheme and good lines. I was impressed.

Date: 2005-06-11 05:45 pm (UTC)Furthermore, the anti-gay American Family Association has met with limited success in forcing companies to drop their support of gays. Their demand that Kraft Foods rescind its sponsorship of the 2006 Gay Games met with firm resistance by the giant food company. Its boycott of the Ford Motor Company for its support of gay workers was abruptly postponed Monday to December 1, 2005, in an effort to "work with Ford dealers to resolve our differences."
Maybe let people at the local and national level know that you support them and are against the boycott.
