Date: 2005-08-18 03:22 pm (UTC)Let me explain the inside joke.
I was laughing with two of my friends, a lesbian couple, about how guys are dumb and we think we'll totally be the one to turn the gay chicks straight. Because our ego is so over-stuffed that we "think we're that guy". We're definitely the ones to "convince" them not to be gay (ha ha!). It ended with me (drunk) saying "no man, you're not that guy. Just accept it. You're not that guy."

Date: 2005-08-19 08:22 pm (UTC)I think maybe I don't want you to explain what's in Herbal Essences, because I'm sure some of it is nasty and I *really* like using it, both for the lather-richness and the scent. And it claims to be biodegradable and sometimes I just need to believe in that kind of thing, ya know? :D
Although here's a question for one of your explanations at some point (doesn't have to be now, you can save it for a "column" entry ;D)...I don't drink alcohol, not ever. I don't want foods with alcohol in them. It does not always cook off...even Alton Brown admits that (which is nice because I'm used to people being very insensitive about this...if I was Muslim they wouldn't be so rude, but because it's a personal choice instead of religious I get flack). So I habitually read ingredients on anything I buy to make sure it contains neither alcohol nor any spices I'm allergic to. I won't even eat something with a tablespoon of wine in it.
About a month ago I had a wicked ice cream craving, and with the gestational diabetes I'm not allowed to have sugar. So I investigated "low-carb" ice cream. First of all, it ain't actually low-carb, so it's moot and I'm not buying any. But I was thrown by something in the ingredients and nutritional info that talked about "sugar alcohol". Corran swears that that isn't alcohol in the sense of the drinky-drinky stuff, because it's not ethanol (I think that's what he said). I am not so sure.
Do you know if this "sugar alcohol" is alcohol or not? As in, could one get drunk off of it? I can't recall the name but I think it was gly-something, which makes sense being sugar-related.
I do know that "chocolate liquor" is not, in fact, alcohol in the drinky sense, so that's okay. Thankfully. :)
