My housemate has a wonderful old German shepherd/Rottweiler dog who has end-stage lymphosarcoma. Jasmine is a sweet wonderful creature who approaches each day with happiness. Her legs may have been swollen, she might have had trouble breathing, but she still wanted to play ball or greet you at the door. I've only known her for the past 4 months but she's brought tremendous light into my life.
But it's now gotten to the point where she's too sick to carry on; she can't breathe or move easily and has difficulty swallowing. And Suzi has decided that today is a good day to send Jasmine off into the next world. It's been a very emotional morning and I suspect it will be an emotional day as well. But it's her time and we need to let her go.
Bye Jasmine. I'll miss your soft ears and your sweet little furry face.
