ringing joyful and triumphant

I'm cranky today, for the following reasons:

1. Soreness in my body, lingering from the drive to San Jose. It's working out, slowly but surely but I'm extra happy that I've an appointment for a massage this afternoon. 
2. Forces beyond my control are making it increasingly likely that I won't be able to leave on time for my appointment, even though I got into the lab before 7am to insure I would be able to leave on time for my appointment.
   
3. The forces beyond my control have made me delay starting a particular set of experiments (as you might've surmised). This delay has not gone over well with my boss.
   
4. Ohio State's dismal performance in the National Championship game last night. What the hell was that?

For fairness' sake, reasons I should not be cranky today:

1. I'm getting a massage today, come hell or high water.
   
2. I'm getting that stupid experiment going, even if I have to kick my co-worker off the instrument. Quit bogarting the cryostat, yo!
   
3. A former chorus member said she'd put in a good word for me at her company. Sweet! 
4. Mike Doughty on windows media player.
5. Cal Ripken, Jr. and Tony Gwynn are going to Cooperstown. Nice. :)
