1. Next week, watch Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I am for serious. Smart, funny, well-done, character-driven ensemble show FOR THE WIN!

2. If you haven't done so, make sure you never ever watch Fantastic Four. Honestly, I was lying on the couch with a lowgrade fever and I still consider watching it a waste of my life. Michael Chiklis tries not to suck but no one else on the cast or crew seems bothered in the slightest by the roaring sound of the vacuum created by the suckiness of this movie.

run-on sentence FOR THE WIN!

3. Ani Difranco tomorrow night. Locals should go. For serious.

4. PAINKILLERS NOW!!11!!!1!

Fantastic Four is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Easily in my top-three all time most godawful movies list. I watched most of it on fast forward. And it still sucked.

I actually kinda liked Fantastic Four. And one of my sekrit boyfriends [Jason Schombing] was in it for the win...

I dunno, I was bummed that none of the characters (save The Thing) really reminded me of the comic books. And I felt like the plot was very obviously Giant Exciting Action Sequence -->tiny bit of exposition-->New Giant Exciting Action Sequence-->tiny bit of funny Johnny makes fun of Ben-->Even Bigger Ginormous Climactic Action Sequence

My naughty tv boyfriend Julian McMahon was in it; not even he could save it for me. :(

It didn't suck as bad as Catwoman, though.

I still haven't seen that. My willpower has been strong enough to resist.

Ahh! I didn't read the comics at all, so didn't have a history to look at...

Fantastic Four was boring and mediocre. A comic book movie should not be yawn-worthy. Dr Doom was weak and pathetic and dumb, and too easily taken down. Worse, the "heroes" seemed to be coasting through it. The Thing was the only halfway-enthusiastic one, but there was something about his appearance that really bugged me: For fuckssake, if you're going to all the trouble to make a CGI/heavily FXed monster, why couldn't you guys go the whole hog AND MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE HE DOES IN THE COMICS!! Why oh why they felt the need to remove his eyebrows I'll never know.

Sorry, clearly you touched a nerve. But it was soooooo dull!

Ooh, also I watched the pilot episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (jeez what a clumsy title) and I really liked it too. Particularly nice to see Matthew Perry in a good role for once.

My girlfriend is dying over here about the Moulin Rouge. I think that if anything, it tries too hard and fails (at least in some places). FF didn't even try to be anything but crap. Ugh.

Haven't seen grey's. Too sleepy last night, needed to get up early this morning. Don't spoil me, 'kay?

Really good pilot, so obviously a take on Saturday Night Live. (does that ever get broadcast in the UK?) It's good to see Matthew Perry with Amanda Peet (they work well together) with such good material.

We have never ever ever had Saturday Night Live here. Which is a shame, although I hear not so much these days when the quality has slipped some, but we never got the old classic (read: actually funny) stuff either.

I just meant that Studio 60 is very obviously based on SNL, even down to the title/into. Instead of "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!" We get "Live from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip!" That's all.

1. Oh yeah? Will have to make note of it. Actually, I think I require a whole new post to find out what I should be watching this new season. Glad to hear that Chandler has something good going on, though.

2. Hey at least you were lying on the couch ill. That is a valid excuse. You can claim that you were delusional.

I got a little lost after:

Ben causes havoc and destruction on the bridge. Crew joins forces to save one single guy from aforementioned havoc and destruction. The group are labeled heroes. Fancy new costumes.

i think moulin was more disappointing cause i was looking forward to it and was pretty much slapped with the crap that it is. i had no expectations for santastic four.

and i'd never spoil ya. i just wanted it jucier is all. prime time soap operas need more meat! ;)

ah, it's always better to go into a movie with low expectations. that way, you can be pleasantly surprised. :)

Aw heck, why worry about getting lost when you have a giant shiny explodey action sequence to look forward to? :\

1. It is pretty groovy. [livejournal.com profile] mosca predicts it'll last 4 episodes, so catch it while you can. ;)

2. "Whaa...so groggy. Delerious from fever. Is that Jessica Alba taking off her clothes? Can't...focus...on...annoying flamey guy...."
