Thanks. He was very ill for a number of months. Just recently he was hospitalized for a bout of pneumonia. He really never recovered from it.

My aunt sounded so sad on the phone. I can hardly imagine what she's feeling right now; they were married for over 50 years.

My mom's oldest sister's husband. He'd been sick for a long long time. I didn't expect the news to hit me as hard as it has, given that we were expecting it for a while.

Yeah. I spoke to my cousin on Wednesday. She told me that hospice had been called in to make him comfortable, so I knew that it was only a matter of time.

I'm just sorry that I hadn't seen him in several years. He and my aunt built the house on Mitchell road that my sister's family current owns; growing up, we were all very close. It seems wrong and sad that I hadn't visited them since they moved to North Carolina.
