Randomness
Jan. 21st, 2004 01:02 pmOkay, no bitching in this post I promise. I'm in a better mood today so I'm letting shit go.
1. I had a doctor's appointment at 8am. After dropping T off I sat down to check my email, lj, etc. Suddenly, I had a Furry Friend climb into my lap. It wasn't Handsome Furry Slutbomb, either; it was Standoffish Tabby Guy. He jumped onto the desk, daintily stepped onto my lap, and promptly curled into a ball.
There are some benefits to cold weather, I suppose. Cuddly kitties are a prime example.
2. Today in the lab: Men Talking Fashion! Heterosexual men! Scientists (ie Men who Generally Have No Interest in Clothes)! I overheard one guy explaining to his friend about how to buy suits, shirts, ties, and then travel with only a few pieces of clothing that make "3 or 4 different outfits." They were even talking colors, charcoal grey, tan, navy, etc. I was impressed.
3. There was some talk in Wendy's journal yesterday about sex making everything better. I need to get me some of that.
4. I've given it a lot of thought, and I am truly impressed by the Jennifer Beals/Laurel Holloman love scene at the end of The L Word pilot. The Mia Kirshner/ Karina Lombard flirtation was great, but their sex scene felt too art school-y and posed, too there's no big gruff man in the picture so everything is delicate as a rose petal. Beals and Holloman brought the heat, though. Their scene had a physicality and an honesty that made me believe they were a long-term couple who, although they had problems, were still really in love and really hot for each other. Thumbs up.

4. I think that Karina is the hottest gal, but have got to agree with you about the sex scene bit.
I'll still think of Beals and Holloman as The Flashdance and Couldabeenaslayer Couple. ;-)
