on the heels of the new-tricks learning jaunt

I've ordered a laptop. 'Cause I'm going to be taking classes until the end of next winter and it will be crazy not to have one. So. Yeah.

in the realm of geeky nerdiness

Last week's episode of Studio 60 was made more inneresting by the realization that Sarah Paulson is gay. Because, well gay makes everything more inneresting. So says I.

Also, Shut Up and Sing was made slightly more inneresting by the realization that Natalie Maines is married to the guy who plays Nathan in Heroes. FYI, Shut Up and Sing gets a thumbs up )

Finally, hello, I'm a geek. I'm not ashamed to be squeeful about this. Seriously.

OK. More coffee.

because i am a geek

I picked up a used copy of the first BtVS game yesterday. It's a format and playstyle I'm used to; so far there are no big surprises but it's a fun game. The series actors all reprise their roles (with the obvious glaring exception of Sarah Michelle Gellar) which adds to the happy.

Second, I picked up a Game of the Year edition of Morrowind. What, I want to play Tribunal and Bloodmoon. Dude, I can be a werewolf in Bloodmoon!
"Werewolf?"
"There, wolf! ...

...Oh sorry, I thought we were talking like that."

Um...okay yeah I'm done. Oooh, with the exception of saying this:

One day 'til Battlestar Galactica! *dances*

late evening walks in the park: now with 300% more snakes!

I've lived in San Diego roughly 6 years now, run trails, gone for hikes. Before that, I lived in Phoenix where I hiked, walked trails, et cetera. I had never seen a rattlesnake in the wild, though.

I can now amend that statement. [livejournal.com profile] virginmartyr1 and I went for a walk at dusk at Mission Trails Park and saw three good-sized rattlesnakes doing their early evening heat soak.

I think next time we'll go for a walk just a little bit earlier.

How was everyone's weekend? Anything exciting happen?

(no subject)

No, seriously people. I wasn't kidding. I need more math in my life. Rec me books, texts, general reading matter that will fire my neurons into a frenetic kinetic hyper mass of tiny currents?
