Okay, silly question: can someone explain what "OTP" stands for? I am lacking a clue .

Also, Milka chocolate (from Austria I think) makes the day happy. Whee!

Not a silly question.

OTP = One True Paring as explained to me by [livejournal.com profile] mosca.

[livejournal.com profile] mosca forced me to make her an OTP icon with Carrie and Big from Sex and the City. She is convinced that they are meant for each other.

My OTPs include Xena/Gabrielle from X:WP, Jerry/Yosh from ER, and Jess/Brook from 1-800-SexyDetectives Missing.

I would add that OTP is often used facetiously, either eyerolling at other fans who only like fic centered on one pairing (see: the Kerry/Kim clones on Whatever Weaver Wants; the Spuffy obsessives), or making fun of one's own illogical fannish proclivities. Like, Carrie/Big would be dramatically awful if it happened on the show, but in my heart, they're meant to be.

Thanks for the info. I racked my little brain trying to figure out what it might stand for; didn't come close.

Distraction, I'm with you on the X/G OTP. I think my other big one is Buffy/Angel, not that I ever got all fangirly over them. It wasn't 'til Angel briefly showed up in S7 that I realized how much I secretly ship for them. I'm not proud.
