Hey, I watched TV!
Oct. 5th, 2004 08:07 amThought abouts about Sunday's episode of Girls in Tight T-Shirts, aka Charmed
1. More groovy Piper/Leo. Will Leo pull his shit together? Will Piper's tough love strategy work? I don't know, but this story continues to be my favorite. Holly Marie Combs is the shiznit; she may not be the best actress on television but she grounds every scene she's in. I miss her with Drew Fuller but I'm starting to really like her with Rose McGowan.
2. Speaking of whom: More of the strange trend of Paige being cool. I like that her whole mother-hen helper social work drive has now been focused toward the kids at magic school. With it, Paige is finally starting to get some sense of maturity. I like it.
3. In that vein, when in the hell is Phoebe going to get some maturity? Her one big scene, the Entrapment/Pink Panther ripoff was pretty tired. And the whole Leslie story? Come on, send Nick Lachey, his lipgloss, bad hair, and one facial expression packing. Soon. He makes me cranky. Then, please tell Phoebe to grow up.
4. Agent Brody! Ooh, he's from Homeland Security, he knows about the sisters, he wants proof they're witches... and then he protects them from Sheridan. Piper wants to know who he is and his reply "Someone you now owe" is oh so telling. Why do I keep thinking that his old mentor from the NSA, a certain Mister Spender, filled him in on the girls during a smoke-filled meeting in a DC alley...
5. Poor Darryl is so fucked. *pats*
At the suggestion of
ariestess I taped Dead Like Me. I watched it last season but for some reason just didn't figure out when the second season began. Now I am sad! This show is so good and I must wait for reruns to see the whole year. My life is so HAAAAAAAAAARRD.
This evening, at the suggestion of
mosca and
distraction77 I will watch Veronica Mars. Right now, I must do a fuckload of qPCR. Ta.

Date: 2004-10-05 05:59 pm (UTC)I got started watching it because Teryl Rothery was in a 4-ep arc and I totally got sucked into the show itself.
I'm thinking of some Daisy/Roxy slash down the line....

Date: 2004-10-08 09:30 am (UTC)B-plot: Daisy got an acting job on Ray's reality tv show. She had to encounter a man whose wife suspected him of cheating and find out if he really was. He wasn't, but Ray didn't think the ratings would be good enough so he forced Daisy to push the envelope. She did, and felt pretty gross about it. Worse, Mason was there to witness the scene, including Ray manhandling Daisy. In the closing scene Mason tells her, "you're beautiful and I love you. But I don't think I like you." Wrenching.
