World - AP Asia: Tidal Waves Death Toll Rises to 44,000

Makes my weekend seem like a walk in the park. 44,000 people dead in a horrible natural disaster; I can't even wrap my brain around that number. I don't know what I can do or where to begin.

it's an overwhelming number of people. the whole things's just devastating...and it's hard to figure out anything that makes it even a bit better. :o(

I just saw some of the footage on CNN last night and it's mind-boggling. I can't even imagine what people there are going through. I understand your brain not comprehending, just hte short bit of watching I did left me feeling very unreal and totally blown away.

It is horrible. And what's even worse is that it's only half the number of Iraqis that were killed by the war, according to conservative independent estimates BEFORE Fallujah. It's really hard to comprehend.

One of T's profs is from Malaysia. Her family is still there. We don't know if they're okay or not.

It is devastating and unimaginable - even with seeing video of it, I can't begin to comprehend what it must be like to be there.

One of my coworkers was trying to calculate how much space all the bodies would cover - it was about 675,000 square feet or 16 acres. That's just staggering.
