I like to all goth-y girl. I like my red skirt, black knee-high docs that lace up in the back, a sleeveless black v-neck slinky-ish material top, and red eye makeup.

I may consider it some day. I think I would like to spend time in New York and California some day.

What are your hopes and dreams for your kids?

Date: 2005-01-14 04:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] joebanks.livejournal.com
that's pretty easy. (He stands to recite) I want them to find contentment and peace within themselves, find a good partner, find a career that inspires them (making enough money for their comfort level would be nice too!). Or in other words find a personal defintion of sucess and get somewhere in the vicinity of attaining it.

If I were a "stage mother" I'd like them to persue some sort of career in the arts, be creative and sucessful enough for that vocation to support them. That is what I would have wanted for myself, and would try to impose on them but I only encourage.

Are you boooooored today? ::Laughs at you:: Anyway, go ahead and ask...

The water quality is still looking really ucky. I don't know if there's any chance it will clear up by Sunday.

*checks watch* Yes, yes I'm bored. Also unmotivated. And I've noticed the bad awful water quality. *cries*

So a question. Who was the first girl you had a crush on? And since you're a bi-girl, who was the first boy you had a crush on?

Well, though I wasn't aware of it at the time, looking back on it now it's clear it was one of my section mates in 6th grade band. And as for guys, a teacher in 7th grade.

Several beaches are still closed, two days after the rain. :( This does Not look good.

You could. And then I would say, "Whatever you are cooking for me." ;-)

I'll have my MS by then and enough experience to have my own counseling practice. I'd still like to be in San Diego, as it is my favorite spot in CA and I don't see us leaving here anytime soon. :-)

When did you start singing?

Date: 2005-01-14 12:12 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mystikalwomyn.livejournal.com
I grew up singing and being told I couldn't sing in tune (I was usually pretty off!). So I sang under my breath and hummed a lot for many years.

I sang in the elementary school glee club (isn't that a wonderful name for a singing group), but just because it was there. It was my elementary school music teacher who really got me interested in music in general. She's the one who encouraged me to start teaching guitar and piano lessons when I was in 8th grade.

In junior high, I hated the chorus teacher, so I stopped singing at school and started singing at church in the folk group, where I got to play guitar and develop that skill. The organist/choir director helped me to sing a little more on key (thank goodness!) and had me do some conducting, too.

When I got into high school I joined the freshman chorus and had the most wonderful music teacher for the next four years. I joined every music group at the school that I was eligible for - Choralaires (girls only), Glee Club (the big group), Chamber Choir, Swing Choir, Madrigals, show chorus for musicals. Starting my junior year, I took voice lessons from Mr. C and got serious about singing.

I decided I was going to study music in college. I ended up as a voice major only because I didn't want to go for music ed (Connecticut was cutting jobs in the arts like crazy, and many of the music classes at the elementary school level were becoming a half hour of babysitting). After a year a UCONN in a program that was too challenging vocally, I transferred to a small liberal arts school where I got to design my own music major and decided that while I love to sing, I couldn't do it for a living.

probably more than you wanted to know...

Describe your ideal woman. :)

From: [identity profile] stevienicks321.livejournal.com
I'm very attracted to self-confidence, perhaps because it is a quality I lack. I have confidence in my abilities and after a lot of struggling learned to like myself, but I've yet to accomplish feeling comfortable in social situations. I'm awed by women who seem at ease with themselves around others.

Another quality that is a biggy for me is that I want her to have the ability to find joy in little things. I love the feeling of seeing the world or something about it with a childlike sense of wonder and being able to share that with someone.

I also value intelligence and compassion a lot. Specifically a few people have awed me by their knowledge of human suffering relating to politics and world events - things I wish I understood about the world and don't.

I've dated someone who didn't share my beliefs, and that was fine as she was respectful of them, but it was really cool for me when I got to date someone I could share that with.

I'm attracted to women of varius physical types but have a particular weakness for short, curvy types.

This kind of reminds me of a time when I was at the gay group in London and we made a list of traits an ideal partner would have. Mine started out with stuff about intelligence and common interests and the like, and everyone thought it was hilarious when it ended with two that were physical, concluding with "big breasts." *shrugs*

*lol* Both intelligence and boobies are nice attributes in a woman. ;) Thanks for sharing.

ok, this was actually harder than i thought it would be because i immediately thought of about 10 things. so here are my top 4 (all from different little categories):

~ getting a massage/being pampered: i could get a massage literally every day and have it be the best thing ever. massage, facial, whatever. just pamper me. i've very affected by touch in general, but massage is oh so nice.

~ very tasty strawberry rhubarb crumbly dessert thing from this restaurant in the Castro that i have forgotten the name of. omg, it's to die for. mm tasty goodness. here is a picture of my friend amy and i eating said dessert.

~ degrassi: the next generation - it's a bit sad that i watch and love a canadian teenage serial, but i do. i love this show and will watch is repeatedly on the N (that's noggin for you folks who don't actually watch kid's tv anymore).

~ early sunday morning sex: it's just great, that's all. and yes, it has to be sunday morning...and by morning i mean way earlier than i normally get up and start my day. "hey look i'm up, you get up too now k? cause i'll make it worth your while."

so yeah, couldn't do just one. am i fired? ;)

Hedonist. Will you be my new BFF? ;)

Also, Sunday mornings are nice but nothing can compare to Saturday afternoons; getting up, having a run, taking a shower-- or conversely having some coffee and watching a little tv -- then going back to bed. Best. Thing. Ever.

yes i will...but only if we can get the necklaces. ;)

but nothing can compare to Saturday afternoons

that is very nice too. true true. i don't run so that part not so applicable, but after yoga functions the same yay. but, yes, anything that results in getting back into bed in the middle of the day is just gooood.

dammit.

Wow. That's really a hard one, 'cuz I average about 4 books per week.
I think probably my favorite-ist book in the whole world would have to be, "Alexander and the terrible, Horrible, No-Good Very Bad Day"
