It's reassuring to know that St. Elizabeth Ann Seton still has an annual Lenten pierogi sale. It's also reassuring to know that my nephew Jesse still likes to play with Transformers. And that Mr. Hero's is still the best bad food you can eat.

Isn't it funny to see how little things change in some ways while everything is totally different in others? It was a hoot going back to CT last summer and showing someone who'd never been there all the things that made it special and unique! And somehow, most of the things I remembered always been the same while I was growing up/living there were still the same. Of course, New England has a long history of not changing. But there were new developments, new roads, etc., where there never had been. Very odd.
