I do have a real soft spot for people who point out that Jesus was actually a really liberal dude and would utterly hate the Christian right.

I think that is just another example of God having a really fucked up sense of humour.

Considering there were bloody arguments for years over whether they used three nails or four, I wouldn't throw the fundies "Nine Inch" to quibble over. There'd be a schism.
