K. I'm sympathetic to the transit system in the wake of the derailment that happened south of Sorrento Valley, and I understand that rain has caused delays to the repair. But, the accident happened three weeks ago and no one has made public any sort of schedule or estimate for the completion of repairs. Meanwhile, we're forced to take half-assed public transit that's on maybe half a schedule. I get up in the morning at 5:30 so that I can take the 7 am train, which gets me to work at quarter to 9. There's another train at 8:15 but you can imagine how late *that* gets me to work.

In summation, I'm cranky, this sucks, and Sandag should fix it. Dammit.

In other news, I love my launchast radio. The playlist so far was: PJ Harvey, Ella Fitzgerald, Deftones, and now Rilo Kiley. Heh. Makes the brain happy.

And for an obligatory sarcastic comment, is anyone else hoping that while lil' brother Jeb Bush is "inspecting" the damage done to by the tsunami, he gets swept out to sea in a freak aftershock? Or I dunno, I'm sure disease is starting to run rampant. All those bodies stacked up and all. I just cringe at the blatant positioning of him in the forefront of national politics; I cringe at the suggestion of another Bush theocracy. Maybe we should round them all up and put them somewhere "safe?" Like, I dunno, Rwanda?

The sun is shining today, which fills me with more relief than I can describe. It's still chilly but now it's manageable. And apparently I'm not the only San Diego resident who feels that way; on the train this morning I saw a mule deer and a couple Great Blue Herons out enjoying the morning. That was nifty.

And I've confirmed that the bunnies who live at the train station are in fact Brush Rabbits (Sylvilagus bachmani)1. Althought they haven't been around much with all the rain; instead, they've been bumped by a bunch of arroyo toads. Makes for an pleasant evening, with that frog chorus serenade at the station.

1. Yes, I researched the various types of wildlife in San Diego, double checked appearances, habitat, and behavior until I could confidently make a conclusion. Yes, this was fun for me. *nyah*
