List your 6 favourite songs at the minute then pass this on to 6 other people. Unless everyone's already done it in which case it's pointless.

List your 6 favourite songs at the minute then pass this on to 6 other people. Unless everyone's already done it in which case it's pointless.
- Madness: "Shame and Scandal"
It's catchy, I like ska, and it's new. It's bored a hole in my brain and has taken up residence. - Wicked soundtrack: "Defying Gravity"
I had this song stuck on mental repeat for the whole week leading up to my move, particularly the following bit:
Too long I've been afraid of
losing love I guess I've lost.
Well if that's love
it comes at much too high a cost.
I'd rather buy defying gravity
kiss me goodbye I'm defying gravity
and you can't pull me down.
Hit pretty close to home. Makes me teary. - Lisa Germano: "Dreamland"
I downloaded this from someone on my flist a few months ago, and it's been on heavy rotation on my Winamp playlist ever since. I love the dreamy quality of the vocals, the sing-song nature of the lyrics, and the understated backing piano. Makes me want to curl up in my jammies for a bedtime story. - Wire: "Three Girl Rhumba"
Tremendously infectious, with the guitar riff Elastica stole for "Connection." Hearing the Wire song reminds me of goofing around on the Elastica song withscrump et. al.
- Nina Simone: "Little Girl Blue (Postal Service Remix)" Because the Postal Service took a song I love and remixed it into another song I love, never sacrificing the longing, soulful vocals or the interesting piano motif at the end of the original. Thumbs up.
- This is a tie between Rufus Wainwright's "Memphis Skyline" and Death Cab for Cutie's "Where Soul Meets Body" because both are tremendously literate songs sung beautifully by Boys I Admire.
