....I always get Joe The Lion stuck in my head Monday mornings. Weird. I hope the nice IT guy at [profile] virginmartyr1 office can pull that song off my hard disk. Anyway. On to Monday.

I am fighting off a stomach bug. Started feeling crappy early Saturday and had to cancel all plans to stay in bed. Saltines and ginger ale are my friend. Yay. O.o

My sister set her wedding date, October 21st. It'll be small, just family and a few close friends. There's the minor hassle of traveling again so soon (and likely of paying through the nose for airfare again) but at least [profile] virginmartyr1 will get to see Ohio in autumn. :)

And in a very odd note, I have the beginnings of song lyrics in my head. But like, song lyrics written as a pseudo-reply to set of lyrics [profile] edenfall posted on his old band's mypsace. I have no idea if anything will come of it. But. Um. Yeah.

[profile] virginmartyr1 gave my hard drive to one of the IT guys at her company. He said that it's obvious that it's spinning up, but he thinks the read head must be broken because it won't read any info.

*meep*

What now?!?

Music meme. A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, [personal profile] mosca gave me a letter of the alphabet.  Now I give you five songs that start with the letter E. Files via yousendit, since savefile is currently being wonky.

Weezer - El Scorcho. (Articles count if they're non-English. *thbbbbbbbbbbbbbblt*) God damn you half-Japanese girls. Seriously, has there been a better, odder way to open a song? I think not. I have extra love for this song because of the line "or the redhead said to shred the cello." I knew that chick. Just, you know, not biblically. No matter what her husband thought.
Pairs well with: kegs of beer.

Radiohead- Electioneering This is one of my favorite Radiohead songs. Or, at least one of my favorite Radiohead-with-bone-crunching-guitar-songs. Snarling leads, snarling vocals, the disdainful it's just business. This goes on repeat during every election season.
Pairs well with: hard cider and a blow upside the head.

Steve Earle - Everyone's in Love with You I shouldn't love this song like I do. His voice is a ruined growl, it makes my throat ache to listen to him. But I feel that bone-aching feeling of loving the wrong damned person, too.
Pairs well with: cheap bourbon.

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs- El Matador (see first entry. said rule was written for this song) Open up for some Rock En Espanol circa '96 or so. Great loping beat, horns, vocals and a fantastic breakdown.
Pairs well with: cana

Ella Fitzgerald- Embraceable You One of my all-time favorite singers, singing a lush arrangement of a Gershwin classic. I don't think I need to say more.
Pairs well with: fine wine and firelight
