Yeah, I got word yesterday an hour before I left for the airport. Spent considerable time playing phone tag with my supervisor. Apparently, they wanted me to come in this morning so I could be laid off in person. WTF. I called bullshit on that so now I'm waiting for consecutive phone calls from Pasty and some HR troll.

Bleah. That's like where I work. They'll wait until a nurse or aide or housekeeper (or whoever they're sacking) works their full shift, and then fire 'em. I think that's crap.

I heard the layoffs happened around 9am yesterday. So I guess that's a point in their favor.

Yeah, what the hell is the point of schlepping my ass up there when everything can be done by phone or by mail? "Yes please, I'd like to come in to the office and be publicly humiliated. Thanks!"

That happened to friend of mine, and when he went to work to be let go, they had security stand there and watch him pack everything up, and then escort him out!

Uh yeah, did you miss the post a few weeks ago where I said I'd been warned that layoffs were coming and that I would be laid off? Or maybe I mentioned it at chorus. At any rate, yeah I'm laid off. Got word yesterday on my way back from Ohio. Made me want to cancel my flight and stay home with Mom.
