quesarah1. What does your Livejournal name mean?
It's the cliffnotes version of who I am, put simply. I am a biologist, an unrepentant geek, and a righteous arse-kicking grrl.
2. Elaborate on your default photo?
It rotates pretty regularly, but the current default is called helix monkey. It's sort of a tribal sketch of a monkey. I like it because monkeys have historically featured prominently in my psyche and, one imagines, my totem. It sort of looks like a totem; I've even toyed with getting a tattoo similar to it.
3. Make up a question.
What is the average airspeed of a swallow?
4. What's your current relationship status?
In one.:) Correction: in a fabulous one with a lovely, wise young woman who makes me unimagineably happy.
5. What EXACTLY are you wearing right now?

edenfall 's old band on it. Black socks. Black Merrils. Lab coat (with my name embroidered on it). ID badge. Knickers with a silly cartoon on them. Blue cotton bra.

6. What is your current problem?
I've got a little crick in my hip muscles right now. I've been training pretty seriously to prepare for a 5k run and me old body isn't accustomed to it. I need a good massage, I think.
Other than that, life is pretty good in Sarah-land.
7. Who do you love most?
That question has no answer. While I'm head over teakettle forvirginmartyr1 , I can't say my love for her is of a greater quantity than that I feel for my parents. And while the quality of my love for my folks is different than what I feel for geli_tripping , I love her just as fiercely as I do them. And though I've known some of you on lj a much shorter time than I've known her, I love you as fully as I do her.
Love has no measure.
8. What makes you most happy?
Spending time with people I love. Preferably while listening to good music and having tasty food and beverages.
9. Are you musically inclined?
Music is such a big part of my life that I don't know what I'd do without it, probably because I come from a family of musically-inclined people. So, um, yes.
10. If you could go back in time, and change something, what would you change?
My gut instinct is to say yes, but my mind tells me that everything unfurled just as it needed to bring us all to this moment now.
11. If you MUST be an animal for ONE day, what would you be?
I have always, always wanted to fly. So I would choose to be a bird, preferably one of the beautiful red-tailed hawks that glide in lazy circles along the coast.
12. Ever have a near death experience?
Not precisely, although I've had experiences and seen things that I can't explain.
13. Name an obvious quality you have.
Humor.
14. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
Well, "Queer" is playing on my iPod now. Does that count?

In middle school, a hair-pulling scratching thingy.

Many times.

Their smile.

On the rare occasion I go there, I order a green tea frappucino.
24. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
Yep. Back in '94 when my hair was longer, I got the obligatory Gillian Anderson comments. Lately, it's been Melissa Etheridge, which I find disturbing.
25. Do you still watch kiddy movies or TV shows?
Sometimes, yeah. I have to be in the right mood.

No.
27. Are you comfortable with your height?
Eh. I wish I found it easier to get things from the top shelf in the lab, but I function okay.
28. What is the most romantic thing someone has ever done for you?
Dance with me in public.

Not well. Although I can order a coffee in Montreal and fuddle my way through ordering at the local Salvadoran restaurant.
