cats are such funny critters. our cats come for walks with us. we were walking the other day up in the field and met a man walking his dog. he looked at us, mama, 2 wild and crazy kids, a mutt, and 2 cats, and said, "do you know you have 2 cats following you...?" it was hilarious!

if they see us walking, they walk with us. so, nearly always. i have to watch when we walk to the laundry room or the playground because those two places, i think, are too far and too dangerous for them. this means i hide from them before we go haha. they will walk with us when the kids ride their bikes, too. it's really cute. little cat will walk out in the open right with us, but larry will walk from bush to bush staying as hidden as he can. if we get too far away, they meow loudly.

My cat only ever went on walks with me like... a handful of times. It was more she let me go on a walk with her though.

God I miss that cat.

none of the other cats i've lived with have done this. i think it might be because we've moved so much that their sense of place is with us, rather than whatever house we're living in. all this moving made the 6 of us very close.

why don't you get another cat? there's always tons of cats that need a loving human.

Interesting theory. Sounds convincing.

Have thought about it, getting another cat. A lot. Sadly father is dead set against the idea. And I can't convince mum either, she really doesn't want another one.
