Everyone in my division was sent an email saying that "they" (whoever they are) need to collect our contact information. Meaning address, home phone, mobile phone.

I fail to understand why anyone who doesn't already have my home information should need it. My Spidey Sense is tingling.

You have Spidey Sense? Cool.

If it's something to do with your work don't they already have your contact information stored somewhere???

They do; it's all on file in HR. But for some reason, the new Director wants to have all our info in a spreadsheet.

I don't like it one bit.

The new Director is probably about to be kicked out after not paying rent and wants to move in with one of you guys. The new Director is probably going to take that spreadsheet and scout out the homes and pick the best place.

That is stupid. It seems like it's more of a matter of not wanting to do the work of collecting the info into a spreadsheet. It's always much easier to hand it off to your employees.

I guess that's what it is. Laziness. But it makes me feel weird all the same.
