Take one part stress, mix with equal measure massive deadline, sprinkle liberally with caffeine and top with lots of Frank Zappa playing in the laboratory. A strange, surreal mental state is guaranteed to occur, thus eliminating the need for recreational pharmaceuticals. Except the recreational pharmaceuticals are more fun. Not that I'd know...

I have a need to purchase some college-style a capella music compilations. There are several pieces I know that would be great fun to sing that way. Unfortunately, it's been a zillion years since I've done any arranging. I need something to kickstart me. I could probably do horn arranging no problem, that's always been easier (different key signatures aside). However, as I have zero musical outlet for horn arranging I really need to focus on vocal arranging. Ah well. I foresee a trip to Border's this weekend. Anyone wanna come with?

For about the last week, I've been repressing the desire to say "Crikey!" I don't know why I want to say it, I just do. I'll save up and burst out with it right in front of wafflelips. I'm sure she'll be terribly amused.

Did I ever mention our friend Colin? Odd man, but that's beside the point. He's an Aussie which may or may not be related to his oddness, but I digress. During the course of a conversation he asked me a question. I paused, and started my answer "Well, I reckon..." He was convinced I was making fun of him. I had to explain to him that my family was from the rural south, and that phrase was very much a part of our vocabulary. Eventually I convinced him. Then I said "Besides, I said Ah recken, not Oi rikkin. Big difference." I think he hit me. Can't recall.

Time to go. Lunch with Frenchie.

If you want to get some music we should probably go to a sheet music store - there's one right in your neck of the woods, called Macavee's or something like that (I know I have the name wrong but I think I have the sound right). Their hours are limited, though. Johanna would have more dirt on which stores are good to go to.
