Lunch report
Feb. 19th, 2004 02:11 pmThere is a place I like to go for lunch called Croutons. It's a soup/salad/sandwich place, but quite possibly the best sou/salad/sandwich place ever. Salad there is a decadent experience. Usually
waffelips doesn't like me to wax ecstatic about my lunches there, as she's insanely jealous. Today however, she had a lousy lunch and in order to make her feel better, I described my lunch in detail.
I think it may make all of you feel better, too. Here it is.
My lunch was a half Santa Fe chicken panini -- grilled sliced chicken breast, avocado, tomato, pepper jack cheese, and low-fat chili lime mayo. It was delicious; just a litty spicy from the chilis, contrasted with the cool creaminess of the avocado. I also had a cup of their chicken noodle soup, which may have been some of the best chicken noodle I've ever had. There were big chunks of carrots and celery (not too crunchy or soggy), egg noodles, hunks of white meat, and a rich broth. The soup was neither too salty, nor too bland. It was almost a perfect soup experience. What would have made it perfect, you ask? If I'd had a whole bowl.
Enjoy. :)
