1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - it's witty and Buffy kicks ass!
2. Punk rock - it evokes no emotion in me
3. Popular - I didn't know anyone liked that show.
4. Charles de Lint - who is he?
5. garbage - I noticed you have a Shirley Manson icon

4. He writes urban fairytales, sorta. He can be a little repetitive, but he wrote one of my very favorite novels.

Oh, duh. I've read one of his books! On the Green or something? No wonder I picked that out of your interests. :P

Into the Green is the title. Yeah, he's written some really fun stuff, and he doesn't shy away from the darker side of fairytales. Some of my faves are Someplace to be Flying, Forests of the Heart, and my sentimental favorite Memory and Dream.

1. Margaret Cho - Because she is a goddess and she inspires me daily.

2. X-Files - I just couldn't ever get into it.

3. Bjork - I don't know why...

4. Lots of stuff I know nothing about so I'll pick Meshell Ndegeocello. Who the what is that?

5. MST3K - Because you're the type.

1.movies,movies,movies: I love the illusion, the magic or the grit; I don't like stars/celebrates outside of the movie, don't care for the whole cult of the celeb thing.

2.Punk: intellectually I understand it I just can't listen to most of it.

3.I'm sorry I just draw a blank there, maybe I don't know you well enough, or I know you to well. Wait; Star Trek I see you as a first series fan if you like the later stuff then I'm surprised.

4.Vonnegut: I never read "Slaughter House Five" . Why is he good for you.

5.Where's Ray Charles?

2. Ah. Punk is one of those things that, in truth, has nothing to do with intellect. Either you feel it and rage, or you don't. S'cool either way.

3. I'm a trekkie from way back; I used to watch repeats of the first series with my siblings. I watched TNG in college with my roomie, and Voyager and DS9 with T. Enterprise is another story, though.

4. Vonnegut; how to describe what it is about him. There's the sense that world is totally skewed, but the world is bizarre so why should that matter. There's the humor, and the pathos. I just like him.

5. He ought to be on there, oughtn't he? As should Big Bill Turner and Louis Jordan, to name a few.

1. X-Men. My brother introduced me to them back in the 80s and I have loved them ever since - up to the whole Age of Apocalypse stuff. After that, it's all been utter, uncreative, regurgitated, soap opera-esque crap (movies excluded). So I guess, technically, I could count this as a response to question 2 as well. And since I'm being lazy, I think I will.

2. See above.

3. R&B and hip hop. It doesn't really surprise me, as I've heard you mention it before. I just have this great image in my head of you appearing at my doorstep all bling bling.

4. Explain, in 30-50,000 words, biotechnology and how it affects chocolate.

5. Boobies. Do I really need to explain that?

1. X-Men Evolution really rekindled my love of X-Men. And the movies aren't so bad, either.

3. Mental Note: find costume to wear to Wendy's house.

4. Biotechnology does not affect chocolate. However, chocolate affects biotechnology, as it makes me a happy biogeek, which makes biotechnology happen faster.

5. Corrected.

1. I like the re-working of the stories through the movies and Evolution. They've done a good job. And they haven't completely sickened me with the Wolvie/Jean/Scott triangle the way the other new comics have.

Oh GAWD, that drives me up a wall. The X-Men were about bigger themes than love triangles. In fact, that was the last thing that ever interested me about the comic.

I liked the elements of the triangle. I liked how Jean was fighting with two sides of herself, which are reflected in each of her men. Ooooh you are so going to read my Classic X-Men when you get here. Two particular stories I absolutely love and must share.

But I hate that that one damn triangle dominates every single re-incarnation of the X-Men. I appreciate it being a part of the movies - and I like the way it was handled. But I appreciate even more that Evolution made sure that it wasn't an issue at all, what with Logan being way older and not at all interested.

Now Storm and Logan. I would have liked to see more of their friendship. They were a lovely couple.

And I admit to being quite interested in the initial Rogue/Magneto romance, and then the Gambit/Rogue romance. But again, the romantic couplings became to be too centralized.

And don't get me started on their constant regurgitation of bad guys.

But I think I've bitched about this all before.
