Do I have to work today?

It's beeyootiful today; the sun is shining and I wanna go play! I don't know what exactly; I did make it to the batting cage Friday and knocked holy hell outta some softballs. Hee. There were some high school boys getting in extra baseball batting practice -- it's that time of the year, after all. A couple of them decided to goof around and take a turn in the softball cage. I am pleased to report that I was hitting ten times better than them. I finished up and strolled out. A few of them glanced in my direction. I thought yeah, I could be your mother and I just showed you up. Heh.

Of course, the notion that I'm now old enough to be a high school kid's mother is unsettling. But I still kick ass.

I really just want to goof off today. Any takers?

Yes I have. We got a new stereo to replace the one I've had since university. It's amazing how much technology improves in 14 years; the sound quality on the new one is lightyears beyond the old one. A couple of albums have so much more texture and nuance than we ever realized!

But yeah, I was kinda amazed when I graduated from my first CD player, which ran either through crappy little computer speakers, or the tv speaker. To an amplifier with proper speakers. THe difference was astonishing.
