She's ALIVE!!!

1. Good rehearsal last night. I actually think we'll pull together both songs for the concert. I wasn't entirely sure last week but today I am optimistic. Go us!
2.
bobamster has her new camera and was showing it off. I have no clue how it works, but it looks all neato with the buttons and thingies. Apparently
virginmartyr1 and B were voicing their approval of my new glasses; I was too distracted by the shiny to notice.
3. B and V's comments aside, I've realized that no matter how grownup and polished I look there is still a scruffy punk dyke residing in my psyche. Witness my newfound fascination for Brody Dalle of the Distillers. She looks like someone needs to grab her by the scruff and dunk her in a vat of antiseptic but...but...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Ah well. Some things don't change.

bobamster,
prrrn and I have decided to take a surfing class! I brought the UCSD rec catalog and we browsed the info. I'm so excited! This definitely fills the requirement of "try something I will enjoy even though I'm terrible" challenge I've given myself. Having pals only makes it that much better. w00t! Go us!
5. I really need a new job. Hyperbole and ranting aside, this place makes me sad. As soon as I got home last night I checked the local sites for new job postings. I found two and applied. I know I'm doing everything I can; I just have to wait for the market to catch up with me. ::sigh::
And just to drive home the necessity of finding a new job, my subconscious presented me with a delightful scenario last night. I was at some sort of gallery opening being stalked by an assassin. We were in a room full of people; the lights suddenly went out; I waited for something to happen; I heard the tiniest noise behind me and whirled to face my opponent. A knife flashed in the moonlight streaming through a large bank of windows on the far side of the room. I pulled a very large gun from my jacket and blew the smithereens out of the assassin.
The lights went up. People were confused. I left the room.
In conclusion, my subconscious knows I'm working hard to resolve this situation but it really feels the stress. Yeah tell me something I don't know. Pshaw.
6. PJ Harvey is a goddess. I've listened to her new album via her site and I love it. Then I dug out Dry and Rid of Me and gave them a listen with fresh ears. They're even better than I remember. Dude, I love that gal. She rocks. She even rawks.
7. Seen on
bobamster's shelf: a Sarah McLachlan album sitting directly next to a Metallica album, just as Sweet Baby Jeebus intended. Amen, pass the potato salad.
