Hey you, yeah you who just asked me a question. Really, I don't know the answer and if you ask me again, I still won't know the answer. Instead of annoying me, why don't you go talk to the person to whom I referred you and actually get an answer? Novel!

Kthanksbye.

Okay folks...

Does everyone have to piss me off today? Are you trying to get it all out at once so the rest of my week is pleasant? Or are you all just a bunch of incompetent, needy, whining, buffoons?

minor snark

Concert is coming up in May. We have an all-new set of music to learn for it (and the big festival this summer). Director has not picked out all the pieces yet, so rehearsal is canceled for two weeks in a row.

We don't have a helluva lot of time to learn this music, and he's cutting two rehearsals because he isn't organized enough to pick out the music.

I am not happy.

Ridiculous

Voigt is not a small woman but to cancel a performance by one of the most sought-after sopranos in the world based on her size seems absurd. I hope she sues. The article is here.

Today's Little Yellow Bus Award goes to [livejournal.com profile] fandom_scruples, a dubious little organization dedicated to making fandom safe for kids. But that's not the point of this post; I am neither condemning nor celebrating their cause and y'all can have whatever opinion you want on the issue, I don't care.

The thing is, they've created a Black List. The authors on that Black List have been asked to lock down their fic so it's inaccessible to minors. The repercussions? A boycott.

A boycott. They won't read or review the work of any author whose name appears on their list. Do they honestly think that will stop a given author from writing fic? My gut says no, that fic is often written for the author's own pleasure and as such can exist in a vacuum. There are no real damages that can be sustained by any of the authors as a result of such a boycott. As such, the whole whoderah is an idiotic wankfest of gigantic proportions that succeeds only in letting a bunch of chest-thumping yahoos stomp loudly and complain.

As [livejournal.com profile] wafflelips and I discussed yesterday, people really are stupid.

Climb on the bus, kiddies.

Harrumph!

[livejournal.com profile] wafflelips was complaining about her boss on the way home--I know, such a rare occasion. This evening, she was bemoaning Ass Boss' lack of planning skills. I responded that it was only natural, since Ass Boss is "whimpering, whining, floundering, flailing child of the moment with absolutely no foresight" and readied myself for the wafflelip's next round of venom and outrage.

She laughed. Laughed!

"You're so grumpy it's cuuuuute!"

I am not cute! My wrath is mighty and fearsome as a semi bearing down on you at 80mph! My ire turns grown men intro trembling jelly-kneed submissive heaps! The cold caress of my sarcasm could wither a mighty sequoia into nothing but a bonsai. And she says I'm CUTE?

Does this make sense?

I ordered an item for [livejournal.com profile] wafflelips' birthday. The warehouse shipped the wrong item. Customer service apologized and said they'd arrange for UPS to pick up the incorrect package and ship the correct.

UPS is trying to pickup the package this afternoon. There is one tracking number for this process.

UPS is also trying to deliver the correct item at some point today. There is another tracking number for this.

UPS customer service cannot tell me whether or not one driver will take care of both packages. They have absolutely no way knowing this information.

Today I hate everyone

There is a jackass who rides the train with me every morning. He is a motormouthed, unkempt, loud, know-it-all engineer who has to find someone to talk to LOUDLY on every trip. I find him annoying beyond words and fantasized briefly about shoving him in front of the train this morning. It gave me momentary pleasure.

Next is my boss, who is on the Shit List From Hell. Yesterday he got bent out of shape because of some information I passed on to a beta tester. It's nothing we haven't told other beta testers, so I thought nothing of it. Today he informs me of a very important piece of information that explains his attitude, and why telling this customer anything wasn't great. My reply was "that would have been useful to know."

What is it with these fucking morons who surround me?
